The AL48 is Long Recoil operated and the UL is Inertia operated. They are both well made and reliable. The UL has the advantage of shooting any shell with in gauge without changing any rings for different loads. The UL also has a 3" chamber to the AL's 2 3/4 only. I got the walnut version for about $600 on gunbroker where the M2 was significantly more without offering much benefit for my use. I think the major differences would be the affinity being a little more heavy, and maybe the benelli having the recoil reducing stock, depending on the specific model. 2. Benelli M2 Field or Franchi Affinity Elite? I'm looking at a new shotgun for waterfowl. I hunt in a lot of wetland so rust protection is a must. As the title says, I've narrowed it down to the Franchi Affinity Elite and the Benelli M2 Field. I like that the Affinity is cerakoted but haven't heard of Benelli's rust protection.
If youβre saving up for a Benelli, stop and consider spending the money you already have banked on a Franchi. You donβt get all the amenities in an Affinity 3 that you do in the SBE3, M2, or Cordoba, but β¦

The a300 will shoot softer so it will help for high volume shooting or shooting with heavy loads. I can't think of any advantage for the affinity, but its still a very good gun. I see the affinity as a walk a lot shoot a little gun, and the a300 more as a waterfowl/clay/dove gun. Like.The only advantage to the M2 seems to be the comfortech stock resulting in less recoil. The only other discernible difference I've come across is the location of the recoil spring is in the stock for the M2 vs over the mag tube on the Affinity which makes them balance differently, and apparently is also a pain to get to on the M2.In excellent condition, this Franchi Affinity 3 is excellent value for money. Benelli is a much higher quality that franchi. But franchi is a solid budget semi auto. Benelli will stand behind there product until your grand children own than gun. Thats the major difference between higher end brands and middle of the road brand. Higher quality control and better service if things break.

Surprisingly the swing on the lighter and shorter M2 was SMOOTHER than the A300. Without the extra weight I was quickly able to swing through the shot. Controls - The A300 seemingly has easier controls. Bigger bolt handle, oversized bolt release, safety in-front of the trigger, and bolt lock in the mag well.

I have a Affinity 3 and an A400(and a Benelli M2). The Affinity 3 is strictly for hunting for me: itβs got a 26β barrel and is nice and light for quick shots, great fit and finish.
